This document that remains lost remains with us in a couple of fragments from written works by Clement of Alexandria (150-215AD) and Origen (185-254AD). Some estimation datings put it the earliest 100-150AD

Reasons for rejection/non-inclusion

  1. Doesn’t appear in any early canons
  2. Appears far after the death of Peter and outside the Apostolic age with all likeliness
  3. From the quotes, it adds nothing new or contradictory material to the Canon in what we know
